April 10-13 I had the pleasure of representing Vasa at the Open Water Festival hosted by the Gulf Coast Swim Club. It was a beautiful venue located at Miromar Lakes Beach & Golf Club in sunny Fort Myers, Florida. This was a welcomed destination coming from Vermont, where we still had snow on the ground!
The Crippen Cup 10K Marathon started the weekend off with a bang. Both the Men’s and Women’s race attracted top international competitors and didn’t disappoint. Each race came down to an exciting, near photo finish. Here is the finish of the women’s race:
Throughout the weekend, I had the opportunity to meet a lot of amazing athletes and talented coaches. Being “on location” continues to provide valuable insight into how Vasa products are used by coaches & swimmers.

I was especially impressed by the group putting on the Open Water Clinic. An engaging group of elite swimmers & coaches teaching 100+ young swimmers about open water safety, swimming fundamentals and training strategies.
The clinic ended with a demonstration on how to integrate the Vasa Swim Ergometer and the Vasa Trainer into their training program. Special thanks to Alex Meyer, Arthur Frayler, and Tyler Fenwick for sharing their Vasa experiences with the kids!
